Choosing this day is to celebrate the birth of Confucius for his great contribution to Chinese culture. In some other countries, Teachers Day is also celebrated. In the United States, this is on the first Tuesday in May. In India, Teachers Day is celebrated on September 5. In Vietnam, it is celebrated on November 20.
